St Joseph’s High School students are having a reunion this year over the October long weekend.
Organiser Cathy Welch said it all started after a high school friend found Cathy through Facebook.
“It was just a blast from the past, so unbelievable,” she said.
“So we thought wouldn’t it be great to organise a reunion.
“We’ve been working our way around people and it really got big.”
Cathy said the old boarders will be taking over the convent over the long weekend.
“We just want everyone that’s been through high school at St Joseph’s,” she said.
Although the High School closed in 2000, Cathy thinks there will be plenty of interested people.
“I think the time to be there was the 60’s and 70’s,” she said.
Cathy and her boarding school friends will be coming down on the Friday night ready for whatever Glen Innes has in store.
Saturday will be just catching up and having a good time, while Saturday night they will be holding a dinner in the Crystal Room at the Glen Innes and Districts Services Club.
“People must have a ticket to get a meal,” Cathy said.
These tickets will cost $30 per head.
Sunday’s plans are still under advisement but Cathy hopes to plan a picnic or social gathering.
The final date for ticket sales for the reunion dinner will be September 18, but get in quickly as there is limited number of seats.
