Rangers headed to finals

Gawler Rangers have all but secured a finals spot after a 9-6 victory over Raiders in winter baseball, and is still in contention for top spot.

A five run, second inning paved the way for the win, with Paul Skelton belting a big double, and hits from the Clark brothers, Shaun and Ricky, as well as Jimmy Hope.

Gawler Development batted well to beat Gawkers 11-4, Geoffrey Barraclough collecting two hits for the victors, while Jack Tearle pitched two solid innings.

Bianca Sampson at shortstop, Tearle while pitching and Emily Flaherty at third base took good catches, while Leighton Penrose threw a runner out from the outfield.

For Gawkers, Shaun Clark, Tia Gill and Lochie Cunningham picked up a pair of hits each.

Gawler Gold Gloves had a 2-2 draw with Bluesox in division one baseball, Jack O’Loughlin pitching the complete game and striking out nine batters.

The Gold Gloves second side had a resounding 21-3 win over Unathletic, Josh Goodman pitching his first career win and striking out six, while Nathan Humphrys, J Gollor and K Goodman picked up three hits each, Goller also belting a home run.
