On the night of Thursday, July 23, a silver Holden Colorado was stolen from the carpark near the Railway Hotel. The extra cab utility was found at Toomelah Mission, later the next day, on top of a fence. Goondiwindi Police urge the public to be aware of locking their vehicle and making sure they don’t leave their keys or anything of value in plain view within the vehicle.
Twice in two days
Police from Goondiwindi conducted a search warrant at an address on Moffatt Street, Goondiwindi on July 23. As a result of the search warrant, a 33 year-old woman from Goondiwindi was charged with 10 offences relating to drugs, including supplying dangerous drugs.
During the evening on the next day, the same woman was intercepted driving in Sandhurst Street by Goondiwindi Police.
As a result of Police inquiries with the driver the vehicle was searched and a drug related item was located and seized by Police. She was charged with one drug related offence and will face court on August 19.

On the afternoon of July 24, Talwood Police intercepted a vehicle travelling west on the Barwon Highway at Bungunya. The 55 year-old man from Bungunya returned a positive roadside breath test.
The driver was taken to Goondiwindi Police Station where he again provided a high range result and was issued with a Notice to Appear at the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on August 19 for high range drink driving. The driver also did not have a licence at the time.
Just visiting a mate
On the night of July 24, Goondiwindi Police arrested a 26 year-old man from Goondiwindi for committing a Public Nuisance offence on Herbert Street.
The man was transported to the Goondiwindi Police Station and was later released on bail to attend Goondiwindi Magistrates Court.
Related to this incident, a 38 year-old man from Goondiwindi trespassed within the grounds of the Goondiwindi Police Station, in what appears to have been an attempt to talk to his mate who was in lock-up at the time.
The 38 year old man did not leave when asked and was subsequently issued with an infringement notice for trespassing.
On the morning of the July 25, Goondiwindi Police attended a single vehicle traffic accident on the Gore Highway approximately 60km east of Goondiwindi.
The 21 year old female was not injured in the accident, however the female driver did not have a licence and was subsequently issued with a Notice to Appear before the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court.
Second vehicle stolen
A white Hilux motor vehicle was stolen from Elizabeth Drive on the night of July 25. The vehicle was found the next afternoon at Toomelah, in a damaged but driveable condition.
Golf clubs stolen
Three golf clubs – one Cleveland, one Galway and one Nike – and one Sure Shot Range finder were stolen from a residence in the Hilderson Street area.

“Drink driving – you will get caught” was the message ignored across the Barwon Local Area Command over the weekend.
Barwon LAC Crime Manager, David Silversides said, “Drink and drug driving is a menace on our roads and is the cause of a range of consequences including loss of licence, unemployment, huge fines and at worst injury and death to the driver, their passenger or innocent motorists.”
Shortly after midnight on Friday night Police stopped a vehicle on Wilby Street, North Star – as a result a 33 year old female has been charged with Drive with middle range BAC and had her licence immediately suspended. She will be required at Boggabilla Local Court on 5 August 5, 2015
At 1.25a.m. on Saturday Police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Simpson and Short Streets, Boggabilla.
The 31 year-old female driver has been charged with Drive with low range BAC.
Around 2.15a.m. on Saturday Police stopped a vehicle on Brown Street, Boggabilla.
The 23 year-old driver had his licence immediately suspended and he will be required to appear before Boggabilla Local Court on August 5 to answer charges of Drive with four or more unrestrained passengers 16yrs or older and Driver not wear seatbelt properly adjusted.
